Consult a physician before beginning any exercise, heat therapy, or cold-water immersion program — particularly if you have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, circulatory or respiratory conditions, are pregnant, are taking medication, or have any other medical concern. Do not use a sauna or cold plunge under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and never use one alone if you are new to the practice.
