Frequently Asked Questions

Buying a sauna, cold plunge, or full rack setup is a considered purchase. Here are the questions we get asked most — if yours isn't answered, call or text us at (419) 356-3570 or email sales@coldironfitness.com.

Ordering

Do I have to create an account to order?
No. You can check out as a guest. An account just makes it easier to track past orders.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
Yes, at no charge, as long as the order hasn't shipped. Contact us as soon as possible. Once an item has left the warehouse, standard return terms apply.

Can I pay over time?
Yes. Shop Pay Installments is available at checkout, so you can split the cost into payments rather than paying in full up front.

Do you charge sales tax?
Sales tax is calculated at checkout based on your delivery address and applicable state law.

Can I order by phone?
Absolutely. Call or text (419) 356-3570 and we'll take the order with you, which is often easier on a large or multi-item purchase.

Shipping & Delivery

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on every order. No minimums.

How long will my order take?
In-stock orders ship within 1–3 business days. Orders ship directly from the manufacturer's warehouse, and after shipment items typically arrive within 5–10 business days. Larger freight items are scheduled with you directly by the carrier.

What does freight delivery actually include?
Standard freight delivery is curbside — the carrier brings your item to the end of your driveway on a lift gate. Moving it inside and any assembly are not included. For heavy items like saunas and cold plunges, plan to have help on hand, or ask us about inside-delivery options before you order.

Do large items require a signature?
Yes. Items that ship via freight (not UPS or FedEx) require a signature on delivery, and the shipping company will call to arrange a delivery time that works for you.

What if I'm not home when the carrier calls?
The carrier will attempt to reach you to schedule. If they can't, delivery may be delayed or redelivery fees may apply, so watch for their call after you receive tracking.

Can you deliver to an apartment or upstairs?
Freight delivery is curbside only. Getting a 900 lb sauna up a flight of stairs is not something the carrier will do. If you're above ground level, talk to us before ordering.

Do you ship outside the United States?
Not currently. We ship within the US only.

How do I track my order?
Tracking is emailed within 24 hours of your order leaving the warehouse. See our Track Your Order page for details.

Products & Installation

How hard are the saunas and cold plunges to install?
It varies by model. Our compact one-person infrared saunas use clasp-together panel assembly and run on a standard 120V household outlet — most people manage them with a second pair of hands and an afternoon. Larger two-person cabins and cold plunge tubs are heavy (some over 900 lbs) and are best positioned with help before assembly.

Do I need an electrician?
Usually not for our compact infrared saunas, which plug into a standard outlet. Larger units and chiller-equipped plunges may have different requirements — check the specifications on the product page, and confirm with a licensed electrician if you have any doubt.

Can I put a sauna or plunge outdoors?
Some models are suitable for covered outdoor placement, others are indoor-only. Check the individual product page, and ask us if it isn't clear — this is an expensive thing to get wrong.

How much space do I need?
Every product page lists exterior dimensions. Allow clearance around the unit for airflow and access, and check your ceiling height — our Smith machine half rack is 8 feet tall and won't fit a standard basement.

Will my floor hold it?
A two-person sauna approaches 1,000 lbs, and a filled cold plunge is heavier still. On a concrete slab or ground floor this is fine. Above grade, confirm your floor load rating first.

What's the difference between infrared and traditional saunas?
Infrared saunas heat your body directly at lower air temperatures (120–140°F) and usually run on a standard outlet. Traditional saunas heat the air to 150–195°F and typically need a dedicated 240V circuit. We cover this in detail in our buying guides.

Do cold plunges need a chiller?
Not necessarily. A tub without a chiller works with ice, which is cheaper up front but means ongoing ice runs. A chiller holds your target temperature automatically. Several of our tubs are available either way.

Returns & Warranty

What is your return policy?
Most items can be returned within 30 days of receipt in new, unopened condition. A 15% restocking fee applies, rising to 40% where an item shows use and cannot be resold as new. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility. See our Returns & Refunds policy for full details.

Why is there a restocking fee?
These are freight items. Returning a 900 lb sauna involves real cost, and the restocking fee covers the manufacturer's handling and inspection. We'd rather tell you this clearly up front than surprise you later — which is also why we encourage a phone call before ordering.

What if my item arrives damaged?
Inspect your packaging on arrival. If anything is damaged, contact us within 48 hours with photos and we'll process an insurance claim on your behalf and work with you to repair or replace it at no extra cost.

What should I check at delivery?
Look at the crate and packaging before the driver leaves. Note any visible damage on the delivery receipt — that documentation makes a claim far easier.

Do you offer warranties?
Many of our products carry a manufacturer warranty. Coverage varies by brand and product — check the individual product page or contact us for details.

Who handles a warranty claim?
Manufacturer warranties are handled by the manufacturer, but you don't have to work it out alone. Contact us and we'll help you open the claim.

What if an item is on backorder?
We'll email you with the expected restock date before anything ships. You can wait, swap for an in-stock alternative, or cancel for a full refund. See our Backorder Policy.

Using Your Equipment

How often should I use a sauna or cold plunge?
That's personal, and worth discussing with your doctor. Many people build in a few sessions a week. Our buying guides cover sensible starting points for both.

Is there anyone who shouldn't use these?
Yes. Heat and cold exposure put real load on the cardiovascular system. If you have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, circulatory problems, are pregnant, or take medication affecting heart rate or blood pressure, talk to your doctor before starting. Don't use either after drinking, and don't cold plunge alone when you're new to it.

How much maintenance is involved?
Saunas need occasional wipe-downs of the benches. Cold plunges need water treatment and periodic draining — how often depends on use and whether the tub has filtration.
